Screening the film Voskan Yerevantsie on Sunday 4th February,
AGBU Holland held in cooperation with the Armenian Church of Almelo and Homenetmen Almelo and under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovannisian the Primate of the Armenian diocese in France and Pontifical Officer of the Patriarchate of Western Europe the screening of the documentary film Voskan Yerevantsie on Sunday 4th February in Almelo.
About 280 people were present the event with more than 50 VIP guests. Besides the Bishop Vahan Hovannisian the Ambassador of The Republic of Armenia Her Excellence Ms. Dzouinik Aghadjanyan, the Mayor of the City of Almelo His Excellence Arjen Gerritsen, the Parliament member from the CDA Party His Excellence Pieter Omtzigt, many members of the Dutch Parties and other Armenian and Dutch organization representatives, as well as different Churches representatives were also present.
We started with a welcome speech by our Youth Comity leader Miss. Araz Kazanjian which was followed by a speech by His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovannisian about Voskan Yerevantsie how and why he came to Amsterdam. Afterwards a speech was held by the Ambassador of Armenia. The Mayor of Almelo was also present with a speech. He thanked the Armenian Community and spoke of its important role of the life of the City of Almelo. Later, our guest from Armenia Mr. Nver Mnatsanakian the producer of the film gave an explanation about the film. Unfortunately the director of this film Mr. Hakop Papazyan was not able to attend the event because he was sick. We hope he gets well soon.
This documentary was screened both in English and in Armenian.
